The Delphia Escape 800 is an affordable, compact & economical 8 meter cabin cruiser designed for inland waterways.
Ideal for families, the Escape 800 features easy aft access as well as a safety rail surrounding the deck. A removable canopy is available for the spacious cockpit for when the Irish weather closes in. Below decks the Delphia Escape 800 features 2 double cabins while the saloon table can also be converted into a double bunk. An economical 30hp Nanni diesel engine provides propulsion.
The Delphia Escape 800 features 2 full double cabins, one fore and one aft, the aft double cabin especially will amaze by its clever use of space. The bow cabin features a double press, shelving and good storage beneath the bunks while the after cabin features a compact yet surprisingly useful wardrobe with shelving on top. The saloon table also drops down to create a 3rd double bunk and is ideal for occasional use.
The linear galley on the Delphia Escape 800 is located on the port side of the saloon. The stainless steel sink located in the centre of the galley with an opening hatch and port-light directly behind. Beneath the sink is a large locker with a waste bin along with access to sea-cocks. Cold water from the 130l tank is standard with an upgrade to hot water via engine or shore power an optional extra. A two burner gas cooker is standard with 2 drawers located beneath, an optional gas oven sacrifices these drawers but there is still room for a pot drawer beneath the oven.
A locker below the counter-top is located to the right of the cooker and a further locker also located above and to the right. The front opening fridge is located below the counter top to the left of the sink while above the counter top is the main electrical panel as well as the location for other options such as a stereo, optional cabin heating and shore power sockets.
The standard galley counter-top is HPL (High Pressure Laminate) but may be upgraded to corian if desired. In general a light counter top colour is offered for darker interior timber colours and a vice versa.
A fire extinguisher and blanket is provided for your safety. An optional remote gas solenoid with integrated gas alarm is available as an optional extra.
The saloon in the Delphia Escape 800 is bright and spacious. Thanks to an interior moulding it is very easy to keep clean with minimal effort. The standard interior timber is a beech effect but upgrades are available to mahogany, walnut, cherry and teak.
Various different coloured fabrics are available for the saloon (& cabin) cushions and the option to upgrade to more plush expensive fabrics also exists. For privacy roller blinds are available for the horizontal deck hatches whilst pleated blinds are available for vertical hatches and port-lights. As previously mentioned the saloon table can drop to convert into a useful occasional double berth.
As an optional extra the party wall between the forward cabin and saloon can be wired for TV (12v/230v & antenna). To extend house battery run time there is also an option to upgrade the cabin lights to LED.
The tall and spacious heads compartment of the Escape 800 features a moulded interior with space for a chemical toilet. Popular options for the heads compartment include either a manual or electric flush toilet with a 47 litre stainless steel holding tank. For those who have already chosen the hot water option a shower with pump out is another option worth considering.
The self draining cockpit in the Delphia Escape 800 is fitted with three good sized lockers. The port side cockpit locker doubles as a gas locker whilst the aft centre locker also features access to the emergency steering system. The helmsman steering position is located on the starboard side of the cockpit and upgrades to the standard helmsman chair are available as well as drinks holders on both port/starboard sides.
The third locker is located in the floor of the cockpit to the starboard side. This locker features access to the holding tank and the emergency steering bypass valve. Other extras if fitted are also accessible via this locker such as the the shore power circuit breakers & battery charger and the cabin heating unit. Access to this locker is also available from the aft cabin via a removable hatch.
The cockpit is delivered with a white anti-slip surface as standard with an upgrade to artificial teak as an optional extra. Outdoor removable cushions and removable backrests are available for the Escape 800 to add to your comfort as is a removable cockpit table for al-fresco dining. An optional cockpit cover is also available that encloses the cockpit fully for those rainy days we occasionally have in Ireland.
Safe and easy access to the Escape 800 is easily achieved via an opening in the aft of the cockpit. Young and old alike can simply step aboard onto the aft bathing platform. The cockpit opening is protected by an opening safety line and an optional washboard is available to ensure even greater safety for young children or pets. The aft bathing platform also features a retractable ladder.
The deck of the Delphia Escape 800 is exceptionally safe with an anti-slip surface covering all side and forward deck walking surfaces. Side deck lifelines with stanchions or optional solid hand rail add to safety and considerably reduce the risk of someone falling on deck or overboard, more handrails are also provided along the wheel house roof. Four mooring cleats are provided with two located in the bow and two located aft.
The wheelhouse, with a hard top, features a moulded Plexiglas windscreen with a green tint that is matched by panoramic side windows. Together these enhance safety with all round visibility for the helmsman and a driving position that is sheltered from both wind & wave. Bright but lower power consumption LED navigation lights are standard.
The large anchor locker provides room for a large amount of chain as well as all your cleaning materials. The optional anchor platform is strongly recommended and a 500W windlass is an optional.
The standard hull colour for the Escape 800 is white with a range of optional colours available including, light grey, dark grey, green, navy & red and custom colours are available upon request. A 2.2kW bow thruster with its own battery is standard on the Escape 800 making tight harbour manoeuvres a breeze.
A variety of stripe colours are available to suit your hull colour and one interesting detail of the Delphia Escape 800 is that there is a recessed indentation for the hull stripes meaning they are much less prone to damage from rubbing fenders so your boat can always look its best.
The engine we recommend for the Escape 800 is the tried and trusted N3-30 three cylinder engine from Nanni Diesel. This marinised Kubota engine features a shaft drive and is renowned for its reliability. Access to the engine is via the removable moulded (and weather proof) companionway steps as well as via two large opening hatches in the aft cabin. This means there is full access to three sides of the engine for servicing & maintenance. The engine sits on its own bed which is completely independent of the bilges of the Delphia Escape 800. This means any oil or fluid leaks or spills are contained and do not contaminate the bilge.
The Escape 800 is equipped with a dedicated start battery with operation of the engine is via a key & push button start. The engine includes a start / stop solenoid operated via the ignition key. the Nanni is happy to push the Escape 800 along at 2,250rpm for economical cruise at 5kts, which increases to just about 7kts at full throttle. At 5kts the Nanni Diesel N3.30 uses approximately 1.8 litres per hour which is exceptionally economical. The fuel tank for the diesel engine is located amidships and has a capacity of 65 litres.
As standard the Escape 800 features three batteries namely a 75Ah start battery, a 110Ah house battery and a 75Ah bow thruster battery an upgrade is available to add an additional 110Ah house battery for extended running. The Escape 800 is fitted with BEP marine voltage sensing relays which automatically prioritises charging of the starter battery. The lighting system provides light to both cabins, the saloon, heads and wheelhouse we recommend an upgrade to LED lighting for extended battery run times.
Shore power is available as an optional extra and when installed includes a circuit for sockets and the optional hot water cylinder. The shore power installation features a battery charger and a galvanic isolator. A galvanic isolator is a device used to block low voltage DC currents coming on board your boat on the shore power ground wire. These currents could cause corrosion to your underwater metals such as propeller, shaft etc.
Other than a voltmeter all instruments are optional extras and include a range of chart plotters and display instruments from Simrad. A DSC VHF is also available from Simrad with 2-way DSC integration carried out in the factory. For entertainment a Fusion 205 series Marine Radio with Bluetooth/AM/FM/iPod/USB is offered as well as a marine grade cockpit & saloon speakers. An optional colour screen DCSM is available for displaying battery voltage and water / fuel / holding tank levels.

All Delphia motor cruisers are built to order to exact customer specification in the Delphia shipyard in Olecko in eastern Poland. Delphia plan all their production a year in advance so customers must take this time delay into account when planning their boat purchase. Due to varying exchange rates and the cost of fuel we provide an approximate boat delivery price only. This can be firmed up closer to the delivery date. Rest assured we do not make a margin on boat delivery and customers are free to use their own delivery method.
We are registered for both Republic of Ireland & United Kingdom VAT and can therefore charge the UK VAT rate of 20% to Northern Ireland customers.
